Your role

As a Cloud & Data Engineer at ALYTCA, you combine data engineering in the Azure cloud with cloud engineering/infrastructure, technical excellence, and customer-facing technical consulting.

You will:

Design, build, and operate modern data platforms on Microsoft Azure.

Develop and optimize data pipelines (batch & streaming) using Azure Data Services, Microsoft Fabric, and/or Databricks.

Take ownership of cloud infrastructure, security, cost optimization, and performance.

Work on data lake, lakehouse, and warehouse architectures.

Support analytics and BI teams (e.g. Power BI) with stable, well-modelled, and high-performing data.

Work on several client projects in parallel, independently prioritizing tasks while maintaining a clear overview.

Advise clients on both a technical and conceptual level and explain complex cloud and data topics in a clear and understandable way.

What you bring

Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a comparable field
Several years of professional experience as a Cloud Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a hybrid role
Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, Storage, Networking, Security)
Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark)
Very good SQL skills; experience with Python or Scala is a plus
A solid understanding of data architectures, data modelling, and ETL/ELT concepts
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Bicep) is required
A structured, self-driven working style and ability to multitask in a project environment
A strong interest in understanding business requirements and aligning technical solutions accordingly
Language skills: Very good knowledge of German, confident English (written and spoken); Swiss German is a plus
Ideally, experience in technical project leadership
Commitment to Switzerland (based in Switzerland or willing to relocate)
